We are very excited for our 7th Annual Russell J. Ebeid Children's Hospital Toy Drive to help brighten a child's life this holiday season!

Our toy drive started in 2015 in Springfield High School's AP Psychology class that wanted to brighten a child's holiday with a toy or stuffed animal. That year we collected 1,500 toys. Since 2015 we have expanded our toy drive regionally and we have donated 39,000 toys and OVER $6,300 in just SIX years to the Toledo Children's Hospital now the  Russell J.  Ebeid  Children's Hospital.

Any child from 0-18 years old receives a "toy" from the Treasure Chest when they are admitted, having scans or testing done and now being admitted to the emergency room. This "toy" helps calms the patient and eliminate their fears while bringing a smile to their face. This toy drive is not only for the holiday season but in hopes to keep the Treasure Chest full all year long!

This year  will  look a little  different, but with the same mission.  With all the regulations and distancing  we are  changing  it this year to  make sure our toy drive still makes a significant impact.

We will be accepting ONLY toys from the specified list or monetary donations. Monetary donations can be accepted either online OR checks can be made payable to the Russell J. Ebeid Children's Hospital and mailed to Springfield High School in c/o McKenna Reitz.  Our goal is to deliver toys and present a check to the hospital before Christmas!

We would love for YOU to help out in any way possible!

"My son had an emergency surgery for a ruptured appendix and ileocecectomy at the beginning of the school year.  The child life department at Toledo Children's Hospital was incredible and made our 7-day hospital stay bearable.  They provided toys, stuffies, games, puzzles, etc. for my son to play with and support during every tough procedure.  Of course, I thought of your psychology class and felt proud to work for Springfield, knowing that many of the toys were likely donated by Springfield students and families."
